The Lightning today are pleased to announce the signing of shortstop Bobby Brennan of the University of Maine.  Brennan attended Bishop Verot High School in Fort Myers, Florida which is a national powerhouse that has reached the State Final Four the last three years.  Last year Brennan hit .335 in 105 plate appearances with only 5 strikeouts.  "Bringing players like Bobby into this league is what makes this league better year after year, he's a tough out at the plate and plays his position very well," said South Florida Collegiate Baseball League President Vince Farfaglia.  Brennan, who is a native of Maine but grew up in Cape Coral, Florida, had the following to say:  "I am very excited to play in the league this year.  It will be a good opportunity to make myself a better play and improve my game."
