Lightning combine to throw a 'one hitter' in Game 1

The Lightning (2-4) took Game 1, 1-0, as Craig Savage (Florida Southern) and Kyle Bender (La Grange University) combine to throw a one-hitter.

The only run of the game came across in the 2nd inning when Paul Menendez (University of Bridgeport) drove in Dylan Payne (Alabam A&M) on a two out single.

Savage improved to 2-0 on the season and Bender picked up his first save of the season.

The Lightning's 7th inning rally fell just short , as the Eagles held on to win 5-3 in the 2nd game.

Bobby Brennan (University of Maine) continues to see the ball well as he improves to 7-for-14 on the year.

Next game is at 7:00pm on Monday at Taravella High School against the Pokers.
