2017 SFCBL Playoffs Semi Final

The 2017 South Florida Collegiate League playoffs continued Saturday with a doubleheader. Game 1 was the 4th seeded Coral Springs Royals against the 2nd seeded Delray Beach Lightning. The Lightning defeated the Royals 2-0. Justin Alintoff (Florida Gulf Coast) was the winning pitcher, he threw 7 innings, allowing three hits and striking out eight. Ricky Miranda (Santa Fe C.C.) took the loss for the Royals going 5 1/3rd innings, allowing five hits, one run and striking out three. Michael Perez (University of Miami) went 3 for 4 with an RBI for the Lightning. Cody Dennis (Youngstown State) was the most productive Royals hitter, going 2-3 on the day. Julian Arcos (Long Island University) earned the save for the Lightning. He allowed one hit through 2 innings of work and struck out one in the win. The Delray Beach Lightning move on to the finals and will face the number 1 seeded Pompano Beach Clippers at 12 pm on Sunday at Miller Park.

Game 2 was the 1st seeded Pompano Beach Clippers against the 6th seeded West Boca Snappers. The Clippers defeated the Snappers 8-2. Dominick Stefanacci (East Tennessee State) was the winning pitcher, he threw 5 1/3rd innings allowing three hits, one run and striking out five. Emmanuel Rosario (Eckerd College) took the loss for the Snappers going 2/3rds of an inning, allowing two hits, four runs and two walks. Dan Blazejewski (Dean Junior College) went 1 for 3 with solo home run and a walk for the Snappers. Christian Coipel (Florida International) was very effective for the Clippers, going 3-4 with 3 RBI's as the team's designated hitter. Yorvis Torrealba (College of Central Florida) went 2-4 with 3 RBI's in the Clippers win on Saturday. The Pompano Beach Clippers advance to the finals to face the second seeded Delray Beach Lightning at 12 pm on Sunday at Miller Park.
